Wrote a song for the band I'm trying (pitifully) to form with my friend. It's depressing but it has a good little tune.

That'd be the day.

1/ Mary Jane turned 16 on a Saturday
When winter came around and snow was lying on the ground
Adam asked her out the very next day
The best couple around, everything going sound.

Bridge: Everything looked alright, everything looked ok
She never confided in me, always looked away.

Chorus: But they found her body smashed up against a tree
At the waterside of the lake near by me
She had slashed her wrists and then dived to her death
And now she lay lifeless and loveless, out of her misery.

2/ They buried Mary Jane on a Saturday
Sky darkened out by cloud and rain falling to the ground
Adam didn't come, he stayed at the lake all day
Throwing flowers from the bridge and watching them fall down

Bridge: He looked alright and I figured he'd be ok
Never confided in me, always looked away.

Chorus: But they found his body smashed up against a tree
At the waterside of the lake near by me
He had slashed his wrists and then dived to his death
And now he lay lifeless and loveless, out of his misery.

3/ Looking out my window on a Saturday
Winter's come around, snow is falling to the ground
Just looking back remembering all the days
You were the best couple around, everything going sound

Bridge: Everything looked alright, everything looked ok
But nothing was as good as it looked; that'd be the day.

Chorus

"He had slashed HER wrists..."

Intentional?

I was thinking this song would be funny if it was sung as a pop tune...up and cheery.

OK, maybe not.

Great song, by the way.

Joanna suggested 'Sarah and the wrist-slitters' but my friend and I have decided it would be better just to stick to Ophelia.

No Britt, that's definately meant to be 'his wrists'. Although....

How about "Beer for a nickel?" That way when you display it on a pub marquee everyone will file in that night.

I liked the wrist-slitting one better.

Tee hee...I love it. This song would be cool with a mid-paced stoner rock type sound. Of course Cradle of Filth could do it as well.

I'm play bass, drums and electric guitar for a metal band called "Cerebral Hammer"
The band members and I swap instruments for different songs. One goes like this...

Verse

I cut my wrists last night,
Gave my blood to my love,
I bled a thousand times,
And I still don't know her.

I am drowning in my flesh,
She eats my soul,
My blood is black with tragedy,
Her mind scarred with deformity,

Pre

Blood on her chin,
Dagger sinking in,
Shes not like what you can see

Chorus

Shes killing me,
I'm slowly dying,
I feel the cold now,
And I'm in love..

Verse 2

Now I'm a lifeless corpse,
Laying in a bath of blood,
I am so cold,
And starting to see....

Now shes really smiling at me,
Cause I know shes happy,
And know shes loves me,
Because I'm so cold,

Pre

Blood on her chin,
Dagger going in,
I know this love....

Chorus

Shes killing me,
I'm slowly dying,
I feel the cold now,
And I'm in love..

She is death and I am dying.

Heh.....
