Am I the only person who doesn't know what the heck this is all about? Can you receive text messages on your cell phone?I'm confused. |

Britt...yes, you can! And, you can receive funny test messages that flash and do all sorts of weird and wonderful things...specially programmed by the makers such as Nokia. |

You can also get dirty images, like someone doing it doggy style, or something like that, and as you press the up and down buttons it actually moves.Lotus, Nokia phones are actually the best for it because of their large text screens. The dirty images work more effectively on models 3210 or later. Oh, and Britt for a country that practically invented the tech economy, I can't believe how backwards your telecommunications are. Text on cell phones is like sooooo old in most parts of the world and the US is one of the few places I can't use my cell phone cos your system is incompatible with most of the rest of the world. What's going on there? |

I've got the Nokia 3210 which is super duper.I couldn't live without text now. I send at least one text message a day, usually to my boyfriend. I live to text. Talking to people sucks! <-(Joke for those who know no better) |

I only just got my Nokia (5100 series, I think) about a month ago, so I plead ignorance.Could someone tell me how this works? Oh, and exile, we do things differently just to fuck with your head. I see we've been successful. |

Ok, on a 5100 series phone, you'd go into your menu, press 2-1-3 to write a message. Then you'd hit your enter button, and send it to a number...if the service isn't available to the number you send it to, your phone will say "no support system for messages" or something similar. To check for messages on your phone, go to the menu, press 2-1-1, and check your inbox. As far as all the freaky stuff exile was talking about, beats the hell out of me. |

I got me a 5110. hmm where is it? /me runs of and searchs for itOooo look at the pretty batman symbol instead of the text that said 'Orange' anywhoooo...PixieChics thing was helpful, but tis easier to use the menu names. Press ur menu button (the blue line) then go down and find Messages, then scroll down to where it says 'Write Messages'. Right ur msg by typin in the letters etc THEN to send press ur menu button again (blue thingy) either type in the number OR use the up / down buttons to scroll thru the numers...then press ur blue line again to send! To read 'em just press the blue line when u recieve a txt. or goto ur menu -> messages -> Inbox. The stuff exile is on about tis funny stuff..and works on any nokia phone (in my experience). quote: if the service isn't available to the number you send it to, your phone will say "no support system for messages"
erm...dont all mobiles support txt? no one has one of those really really old ones that dont any more. U can also send txt msgs for free from icq, and it's free to reply to too! ------------------ This msg has been edited to protect the sanity of others (: io |

Actually, there are a lot of places around the U.S. that don't support text messaging. Rural areas that still use analog towers other than digital or satellite systems don't support it. |

No, the moving erotic text messages certainly don't work on 3810's or earlier. I only know cos a guy at the footy club text'd me a bunch of them last year, when I had a 3810. You get them but they don't line up properly which sort of ruins the effect. He had a 5110. Anyway, Britt, you got this thing worked out yet, or what. |

Here we have what is called 'Free Time'. If you're with a certain company, calls to another mobile phone of that company are free for the first 20 minutes from 8pm to 12am EVERY NIGHT! So you just talk for 19 minutes and then call back! |
