Well, Halloween has come and gone. With all these dire warnings about bioterrorism and more terrorist attacks, much discussion has been made. One poster on another site wrote: "You will be lucky to see a witch or a power ranger on the street Halloween night (hope you like candy because you won't be able to get rid of it)." However, I found that many people here in the DC area celebrated Halloween. They were a lot more careful of course, but they decided not to let their fear get the best of them. As for me, I spent Halloween night going to a meeting of a group I belong to (though I scored a bag of M&Ms from a parent handing out candy when I wished them Happy Halloween). And more than a few times, I saw kids and their parents out trick or treating. I'm sure they thought that one of their kids' fave holidays shouldn't be held hostage to fear. I also saw Tod Brownings' "Freaks" on TCM that week after hearing about it for years. Good Stuff. How about you? Did you spend all hallow's eve cooped up or did you send the fearmongers a raspberry by going out? |

I worked until 9:15 PM, then went home. There had been a minimum of trick-or-treaters, therefore a lot of leftover candy. Either the fearmongers hit hard here or the Jehovah's Witnesses had been working overtime, making sure nobody went out on Halloween. I heard of trick-or-treating at the malls, but I didn't care. Now to polish off those leftover M&M's. I know for a fact Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers coming up to their door and annoying them. |

I sure as hell did. I got off school early (9 pm instead of an half hour later) and when over to a friend's house where I caught the last few hours of a party. I also watched some of the original 1922 Nosferatu then watched the full moon. Then I came home and caught "House of Dark Shadows" and some of "The Vampire" on TCM. I would have watched AMC somewhat but their good stuff came on earlier. So, it was a better-than-usual All Hollows Eve. Not a terrorist thought entered my mind. |

Plus, I updated my website again with something I thought was fittingly Halloweenish and a bit obscure. Of course, I'm not sure if I should brag about writing it in one night, but that's for my editor to decide. |

After having to drop kick a couple of kids down my steps i then settled down to watch a brilliantly funny film that was also full of inane violence, just the way i like it, and it went under the name... Guesthouse Paradiso. |

You like to burn things and stuff, Fiona. Tell me something - was it you that invented those settings on toasters that only serve to turn your bread into several molecules of charcoal?
