Okay, I've seen it and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! This is going to be a great season and I can't wait to see it all!I liked how they took potshots at America, but was baffled at how the ATF was really a bigger threat then the CIA and other various government agencies until I realized how Canada views the whole "Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms" of ours. But it was very witty, and I'm glad that Stan got the key back. Class 13 Planet? Us?? Can't wait until next week. |

Told ya so! Did you see the cruiser with HALIFAX written on it? I also liked how they had all the various people killed for witnessing the UFO.The NSA has seven times the budget that the CIA does, and I imagine that the ATF has a bigger budget than that. That's probably why they're seen as a threat. |

Anyway, it was still funny as hell....and wasn't it odd that Priest was part of the President's cabinet YET someone named Priest was elected president? And what the hell was that meteor at the end? Mantrid or His Divine Shadow?? |

The next time I'm tempted to believe that I have a clue, I'll reread this thread. I have NO idea what you people are talking about. Probably due to the fact that my stepfather is in control of the remote and watches nothing but True Stories Channel and The Western Channel. I'd have to kill him to wrest control of the tv, and I think I'd better at least wait till my Mom qualifies for Social Security, so her income won't be dropped too bad. |

Thoughts on 4.2 "Texx Lexx"--WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!Well, I liked it. Through Rooster's trailer was a little too posh for a hick (CARPETS??), I did like a lot of things like: --Xenia's singing voice... --Stan showing a little courage/cruelity towards Prince as opposed to girlish fear. --Kai meeting up with a bunch of "Lone Gunmenish" people and dispatching the ATF with little ease. --The satire all together...and what was Gigeroff watching when he wrote the end, "The Big Bird Cage??" Really now.. Anyway, an enjoyable experience until the very end. You see, the Sci-Fi Channel made a goof and instead of running a promo ad that takes up half the screen during the credits, they ran it a minute early and unintentionally censored the last scene of "Texx Lexx!" ARGH!! Now I'm in the midst of RETAPING the whole episode so I can get that last part....blasted Sci-Fi Channel! Bloody two plankers, up your hole!! But I'm happy. Got my Lexx fix, now to find a second job to get the DVDs. Anyone else see it? Pez? RJ? |

I dont know if anyone else noticed this, but the wheelchair-bound physicist did the voice of HDS, and played the dying HDS at the beginning of IWHS. That and the obvious fact that all the images he showed to kai included a drawing looking much like HDS. Personally, I'm hoping HDS will make a comeback in s4, and possibly have a confrontation with Prince . |

Arggh, so you're ruining it for me! Curse your black heart, Mr. Zbu! Irid, the whellchair-bound physicist is Stephen Hawking. He's actually been proven wrong about so many theories it would make your head spin like a quasar. ------------------ WWYK--approved of by college-educated right-wing religious foreigners. |

I dont think that's supposed to be Stephen Hawking, but I do think the fact he's in a wheelchair is probably taking a stab at that preconceived notion of a physicist some people have. Besides, who cares anyways, it's Lexx . |

LEXX 4.3 (cont.)Okay, this is the one with Craig Charles and Holly Hatridge, better known from Red Dwarf as Lister and the second Holly. This is also known as the episode which gives us the first dose of nudity this season along with a lot of plot threads which could be a big deal later on. This is also an episode which makes no real sense, through I am tempted to excuse that by saying that Sci-Fi cut the fuck out of it. I didn't like P4X because whatever satire it was trying to invoke didn't catch on. Was it a shot at the American Penal (ha ha) System? Our brand of justice? The internet? I have no idea, but I can tell you one thing: Craig Charles looked like he was going to fucking die every time he said 'panties.' I felt sorry for him in nearly every scene he was in. He looked uncomfortable. He looked like he had somehow got caught in a big beartrap and was forced to either chew off his own leg or die slowly in nearly every fucking scene. And the very end it finally hit me: for every Red Dwarf joke that made Lister look like a blasted fool (even that time his head swelled like a giant zit and burst), this is the low point of his career. Plus, we finally get a look at those meteor creatures in closer detail, and why they are shaped like the child of a carrot and a suppository. The latter is a hint on how poor Lister bites it in this episode. But aside from that, the regular cast holds up extremely well. All of them are given some character-defining moments (seeing how Stan rescued himself instead of just whining was good for my soul) and the science nerd's alpha and omega of character was truly amusing. By the end, I wanted him smashed in the way he was. So, all and all, this episode could be a foreshadowing of what is to come or how the rush order of new episodes by Sci-Fi to the Lexx creative staff is going to shape new episodes. I just hope that the next episode is a bit more fluid and not so scattershot as this one was. But hell, you get to see Xev naked (a lot Sci-Fi DIDN'T cut!) so who is complaining? Pez, your thoughts?

I'd say it was alltogether good, and quite funny in several places. Also I dont think the point was to make any specific satires, it's just to make everyone on Earth look totally odd, while the crew seems to be the only sane ones around. (I'm not sure if someone else said this before, but even if they did, I'm going to repeat it.) All in all: good old fashioned Lexx. |
