I got just word of Gallifrey One: it turns out that starting with "Attack of the Cybermen" in January 2002, all new (and possibly old) episodes of "Doctor Who" will be released on both VHS and DVD (just the episodes; no extras)! YES! Finally living in America has it's benefits besides fine plumbing and annoying catchphrases! As an added bonus, starting in September, all VHS releases will go down in price: single tapes will go down to $13, double tapes will be $20, and the rest will be $35!! COOL!! LIFE IS GOOD! Of course, it also rocks that the first American-only release will feature the BEST Doctor, Colin Baker. Life is good. VERY good.

I stand by my comment. But I am willing to say that I underestimated Sylvester McCoy and he is truly a fine Doctor...shame he didn't get a good writer. |

I have, I'm just not falling into the American trap by saying that Tom Baker, while the quintesstial Doctor, is the end all be all of the whole show. I am saying that Colin Baker had a lot of good factors to his portrayal, which makes me believe he was one of the finest men to play in the role.Personally, he's my favorite. Of course, Patrick Troughton ranks up there as well...has anybody seen the new recon of "Macra Terror?" The man can defeat the lack of video material with simple pictures and audio and still keep it interesting...now that is a gifted actor.

Patrick Troughton was a fine actor indeed. He also had a wicked sense of humour - I'd love to have been present when he and Fraser Hines (Jamie) "de-bagged" Zoe (Wendy Padbury) - in a church, too! Colin Baker really didn't get a fair go, though, did he? |

Sorry, but my preference was Tom Baker, though i loved Rowan Atkinsons portrayal of him as a one off for Comic Relief. |

Bluebottle,Nope, he didn't. But at least he's the first to get a vanilla DVD release in the States. It all equals out. |

Rowan Atkinson's portrayal was brilliant, Magpye. Jonathan Price's Master was even more brilliant (wa-a-ayy over the top and very funny!). Nice to get the digital releases, Nick, but wasted on me as I don't have a DVD player anyhoo! |
