As you might have known, this Zbu had to drag his ass into court last Wednesday to deal with the most dreaded of all human experiences.

Yup, I served on a jury.

The first day, I was the second person chosen to serve on the first jury. At first, I thought it was going to suck but after a while, I started to enjoy it...imagine me, a small cog in the big machine of Justice, vital in determining if a man will spend the rest of his days running in cornfields or being assmate to some big greasy bald man called Rodrigo who likes to play 'Da Man' and "Soap Ain't Needed."

Anyway, I only spent two half-days (three hours each) and I served on a criminal case. Even through I can't explain what it was it was a stupid case and shouldn't have reached the trial level. But it wasn't the judge or councils' fault. All and all, despite having to drive forty miles to hear the damn trial, it was pretty damn cool.

Justice at work: kinda cool.

I got the call once, but I told them I was a university student and couldn't make it. Apparently it was a big trial that would have required several weeks of commitment, so no way in hell would I have made it without my grades suffering.

Still, that five bucks a day is pretty tantalizing.

Well, I think it's more like $40 CDN for duty, but even for that I couldn't miss school.

My name hasnt come up yet, but if/when it does I think I'll try and serve on the jury instead of trying to get out of my obligation. Id like to see the justice system work and maybe me having my voice in it.

I was in for two cases, and one was thrown out of
court due to the witnesses being utter shite.
totally contradicting each other, the other was
pretty good though, and they got what they
deserved!!
