casting. She wasn't my idea of a nuclear scientist. There are lots of reasons why she was cast.
Mostly they have to have a girl who they think will appeal to 13-to-18 year-old boys in America
and Denise was the girl who was chosen. She's actually a very nice girl, but for my money she
wasn't right for that part."

I think Politically Correctness is getting out of hand. If everyone wants a black James Bond, then create a black superspy. But sure as HELL don't make an English character black just to garner praise. Why not make Shaft a forty-year old Jew in 1890? It makes no sense. |

All true, but black or no black, Cuba Gooding is one fine actor; other excellent black actor, in my oppinion, Morgan Freeman.Overrated black actors: Laurence Fishdick; Bill Clinton (that "I did not had sexual relations" line could have used a little more rehearsal in front of the bathroom mirror) /ah nevermind... |

Cuba's just too wired for me. I don't think he's a great actor at all, just spazzy enough to liven up dull movies ("Men of Hono[u]r", "As Good As It Gets"). And I'm a bit skeptical of his ability to pull off a believeable British accent. |

I'm skeptical on the probability of someone like Cuba doing a believable British accent, much less the ability to say "The name is Bond...James Bond."I'll agree about political correctness getting out of hand. It's just too crazy for my liking. |

Well, I'd be more inclined to object to Cuba Gooding Jr. (aside from the PC thing), that he definetely doesnt know how to do an action movie, especially a bond type film. Watch the film "Chill Factor" and you'll see what I mean (it's not that bad, but his action acting is definetely not Bondlike). |

I like cuba, he's a good actor.
but james bond isnt' a black character. dont care bout PC it's based around a white character ... like nick said, create a 'black superspy' for it. Dont go change things that work!Also Laurence Fishburn .. top actor in such films as 'The Matrix' (one of my all time faves) and 'Event Horizon' |

I maintain Cuba Gooding is a good actor; making him the new James Bond, however, is a very dumb idea. But I case they do, I propose Charlton Heston as the new white Shaft
