It's fun when smartasses get it (no irony intended): quote:
NBC Comes In Third On Thursday NBC last week was hit with a costly double whammy: Not only was it forced to endure the lowest ratings of any major network program with its XFL telecast on Saturday night, but its Robert Halmi-produced miniseries The Lost Empire became the lowest-rated TV miniseries in history. Yet a third humiliation: its Must-See TV lineup on Thursday night, all reruns, wound up in third place behind CBS's and ABC's first-runs, the first time that had happened since May, 1994. On the other hand, CBS had much to cheer about as its Survivor: The Australian Outback and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took first- and second-place Nielsen honors for the week. The network wound up with a 8.4 average and a 14 share, the sixth time in the last seven weeks that it has won the ratings race. ABC was in second place with a 8.1/13, thanks in large measure to the continued strong pull of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. NBC was third with a 7.0/11, followed by Fox with a 5.4/9.

Heh heh heh...their days were numbered when Frasier couldn't cut it in the 'valued' 9pm hour. |

And, sadly, I finally realized that the Simpsons are as good as dead as well. How, you ask? Well, tonight's new episode was called "Simpsons Safari," in which the family goes to Africa and gets lost. How do I know that the show is over? --I thought of a better title for the episode than it was given "I Screamed of Africa." --The plot followed the same direction it has for the last two seasons: due to weird plot thread in the first five minutes (that is never touched upon again), the family gets into a weirder situation that comprises the vast middle part of the show. Then, within five minutes of the end, there comes yet another plot happening that is quite stupid and which ends the show somehow. --The writers have finally given up trying to make sense and just go for the oddity of it all, which would be good if I actually cared or thought anything was even funny. --What is with the writers slamming people? Tonight's target was grocery store bagboys, who are now 'inept' and 'greedy.' Well, excuse me if I don't take all the abuse heaped on them for $5.15 an hour. Man, what happened? Anybody have any ideas? I blame entropy. |
