I've just watched it again, for the god knows how many times. I've come to the coclusion that Xander (Buffy) or Kelly his twin, will look like Ash(Bruce Camble). What do you think?? ------------------ "I didn't steal it - I found it!" |

I mean when they get older! But they do look so similar, don't you think? |

Mags...Nightshade and I saw that movie together last night. Neither of us had seen it before! Enjoyed it thoroughly...a real scream. That part where he is battling his own "evil hand" is classic! AND the funny thing is...at 2am this morning, yet ANOTHER "Classic C Grade movie" was on also..."Surf Nazis Must Die"...seriously bad stuff! hehehe... (by the way, Mags...I was going to post this topic in here but you beat me to the punch...great minds think alike, hey?) [This message has been edited by Lotus666 (edited 03-11-2001).] |

Hello For Whom the Bell Tolls, hope you are well? Yes i do agree on the plastic, but are you talking about Buffy or the Evil Dead. Personally i think they both run pretty damn close! |

Speaking of horror movies..."The Exorcist" was on TV last night. Nightshade has not seen it before, so we taped it. Looking forward to seeing it again (been a while since I last saw it!)Did you see it Mags? |

I saw the Exorcist on Hallowe'en. That was a terrible movie! It wasn't even scary or anything, and most of the stuff in it was unrelated to the possession. What was with that guy in the desert? Stupid hype. |

Rj, if you watched it in the pictures, they have cut 20 mins out of the film. The priest in the desert, who also exorcised Regan was an expert on demonic possession, and the statue he went to see in the desert, was what possessed Regan. Hoped that helped a bit. |

RJ, then you should see the part where the little girl does the inhuman crab walk..worth the price of admission alone. ------------------ Wave your Freak Flag High...with a white background so the cops know your Glock is empty. |

I didn't see that in the version I watched. What did they do, say, "Oh gee, a girl walking down stairs on her tiptoes would horrify the audiencecut that out, but her exposing herself to a priest and telling him to fuck her...hmm, that would be acceptable." Stupid! |

Plus jacking off with a cross, don't forget that. But "Exorcist" is a good measure of how the public's opinion on horror films changes. Nowadays, "Exorcist" looks pretty damn pathetic compared to the various Friday the 13th and other slasher pics. Of course, I could bring up "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Psycho" as counterproofs.... Oh, let's face it. There are two kinds of horror: those that frighten the public at large (which are lamer than beyond imagine) and truly horrifying films which take the blame for all of society's faults. The latter is what truly makes the horror genre great at what it does; scaring the shit out of everybody so they spend a week jumping at shadows.

Or maybe I just grew out of the entire horror genre. Psycho wasn't that scary to me either (the old one, not that piece of shit with Vince Vaughn). One time we had a foster kid staying with my family. He was about eleven, me seventeen. He had wanted to rent A Nightmare on Elm Street 5, and my mother was appalled. I told him that I wouldn't want to watch a movie like that, and I was allowed. It's just such a stupid concept to me now, you couldn't drag me to a slasher film. Of course, I also went to see I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (Jennifer Love Hugetits could not save this turkey) and I was transported back to 1981, the whole dawn of the idiotic slasher film. Masturbating with the crucifix...maybe I was in the bathroom when that happened. ------------------ "Hey are those real?...Niiiiiiiice...." |

Luckily, I never really grew out of it. I just went on to other countries' horror films. And believe me, our horror films are NOTHING compared to Italian giallo and various Japanese productions. That's the stuff Hollywood doesn't want you to see: grisly as hell. |

Hi Gypsy How's it hanging? Hope you are well? Well i think that The Exorcist is a classic, it actually had a story to it, unlike the slasher films that followed, but then again i do love a good mass killing!! ------------------ "I didn't steal it - I found it!" |
