Okay, it's been established that the Doctor, sooner or later, will be released on DVD everywhere where Who Fans can be found. DVD offers a great deal above it's VHS/PAL counterparts, including extra interviews, music, and other special things about each episodes. And plus the BBC, in their wisdom, have decided to at least release one story for each Doctor. So far, we have: THE FIVE DOCTORS (each Doctor) THE CAVES OF ANDROZANI (5th) THE ROBOTS OF DEATH (4th) SPEARHEAD FROM SPACE (3rd) REMEMBERANCE OF THE DALEKS (7th) So, what stories would you choose to be released for the remaining Doctors (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th)? In fact, what one story (for each Doctor)would you LOVE to see the Beeb release? Well, off the top of my head, I do know that so far the BBC will not release "Tomb of the Cybermen" on DVD, so that cuts that out for now. But, in order and reason why: 1st: For Hartnell, I get the feeling it would be utter blasphemy not to release the original "Daleks" story on DVD. Sure, it's a freaking 7 episodes, but it's worth it. After all, it is THE episode that made Who what it is. That, or "Dalek Invasion of Earth." 2nd: Well, it would be my dream to see either a DVD reconstruction of a full story (like "Evil of the Daleks" or "Power") but I know that's wishing for too much right now. out of all existing, I would really like to see either "Mind Robber" or "The War Games" put on DVD. That chapter selection would really help the latter. 3rd: Hmmmmmm.....wouldn't it be interesting if Anthony Ainley could make a running commentary on "Terror of the Autons?" Oh, hell, I say "Ambassadors of Death" just so it can get released. 4th: Aw, hell. "City of Death." Easy. 5th: Speaking of running commentary, I'm thinking Matthew Waterhouse doing "Earthshock" would be quite an experience. 'Oh, yeah, this is where I die...I was SOOOOO depressed after that...' Or dig Janet Fielding out for "Resurrection of the Daleks." 6th: Ooooooh yeah. Colin Baker, running commentary, "Twin Dilemma." "Two Doctors" came to mind but then I would love to see Colin's recollections on the very first version of his character. 7th: "The Happiness Patrol." Why? Why not? I mean, come on!! It's the only story I can think of that I can't really hate. I haven't seen it, granted..... So, those are my thoughts. I know Bluebottle has some kickass ones running around in his head.

Hartnell; The ArkTroughton; The Dominators, The Krotons and The War Games. Pertwee; Colony in Space, The Curse of Peladon, The Mutants and Planet of the Daleks......you can just tell that I'm not a big fan of the stories set on earth, can't you. The guys from UNIT shit me. Baker; Just about every story he made. However, I have fond memories of The Ark in Space and Genesis of the Daleks, my all time favorite. Davison; Earth Shock and Terminus. |

Exile,Terminus? You just want to have that extra special clear freeze-frame so you can 'study' Sarah Sutton in her slip. I'd rather prefer Mawdryn Undead; that way, you can see down her front if you're fast with that pause button.. Hmmmmm....nice, white skin....ooooooh.... [/pervert] [/fanboy]
Hey, wait a minute! If the Doctor Who Restoration Team can release 'The Crusade' when there's two episodes existing out of four, why can't they release Troughton's "The Moonbase?" Two eps exist, telesnaps and soundtrack exists, PLUS they could add the other two eps of "The Faceless Ones" on top of that along with a little explanation of the story!! HEY!! Come on, BBC!! Take the hint!! Remember: Cybermen sell. [This message has been edited by Nick Zbu (edited 10-05-2000).] |

Nick; I'm not that type of guy. Having said that, I might add just 5 more stories before the introduction of Sarah Jane Smith....Yaaaaayyyy. Always liked that little turned up nose. Not unlike Jenny Agutter from Logan's Run.....now there was a Babe. |

Exile,Yeah, right. You can't honestly tell me with a straight face that Sarah Sutton was a better looker than that Tegan chick. PLEASE!! But, honestly, that woman who played Jo Grant was quite cute. Actually, before you hit the boards I believe Lotus had to tell me off when I posted a link that went to a page that had those Jo Grant nude pics. Man, that was a lucky Dalek... And Jenny Agutter? Heh heh heh.....gotta love those Shakespearean trained actoresses. Quite hot. QUITE!!

OK. I've finished thinking for now (and a right painful process that was!!):Hartnell: The Daleks (as you've said, the one that really kicked Doctor Who off), Galaxy Four, and The Tenth Planet (end of the fioirst "era"). Troughton: The Macra Terror, The Moonbase, The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Mind Robber, The Wheel in Space, and The War Games. Pertwee: Spearhead from Space, Terror of the Autons, and ... well I'm not hot on the Pertwee era. T. Baker: The Pyramids of Mars, The Robots of Death (lovely claustrophobic story!), Genesis of the Daleks, and maybe a few more. Davison: The Black Orchid, Earthshock, The Five Doctors. C. Baker: The Two Doctors, Trial of a Time Lord. McCoy: Remembrance of the Daleks (lovely touches of humour regarding the Doctor's past!). There could be others; and there are no prizes for guessing which era I prefer! Sorry that took so long. |

BB,It's okay, man. Plus, I never really did think of 'Trial of a Time Lord.' The chapter select would make that a must ALONE. Anything to see that part when the Doctor finally realizes who the Valeyard is and the supposed death of Peri.
