I originally saw this as showing off a couple of months ago and some stuff I saw made me roll my eyes and mutter "show-offs" under my breath.

Some freestyling moves I know of:

Hand plant - Also called a hand slap, it's when a player hits the arrows with their hands with their feet anchored on certain arrows. I've seen many a player do this on the early part of Dynamite Rave on the Basic setting.

Knee drop - Sometimes, a player drops to one knee to hit an arrow. I don't see this often.

Matrix walk - The player grips the bar behind the platform and seemingly walks across the screen. It's a technique that most players frown on because that usually leads to broken or damaged machines.

Maybe this will help you out, Lotus.

Hey, Pez - methinks you would give LF a real run for his money at DDR. He can handle Dynamite Rave on Trick (medium setting), whilst I'm lucky to make a B on Dynamite Rave on Basic (easy setting).

But then, both me and LF have been at it for a few months on the imported 3rd Mix. I heard of a 5th Mix machine somewhere in my hometown, but haven't had the time to check it out.

I dunno, I wouldn't want to try 5th mix. I don't like 4th mix, only play it cause it's the closest one to me. It's opt for 3rd mix. Much nicer, and the sneaky bits for double pads makes it feel so much funner.

When I get really good at DDR, then maybe I'll do some hardcore freestyling. You can bet your last dollar I won't do the matrix walk, though. The last thing I want is a bunch of pissed-off DDR players wanting to beat the snot out of me for damaging or breaking the machine.
