Ok. Talk about anything you want, but it has to be happy. Should anybody not like this or break this one rule, (hopefully) my good friend Lotus will make it look happy. |

I went bowling today and here are the scores from lowest to highest:3rd game - 142 2nd game - 146 1st game - 220 Oh yeah! My first 200 game in years! I got off on a wonderful start early on - 4 strikes in a row (the first two were Brooklyn shots) and kept getting high counts throughout the rest of the game. *Jumps for joy* |

Since the towers went down, I've had to cut my employee's hours to meet budget. I'm real happy about that. |

Crime has gone downward in the US, mainly because now all of the gangs in the US now are really po'ed at Bin Laden and they might just join the military, thereby lowering crime and increasing our chances in the front line. |

Thanks Lotus. Now that I've cut my employee hours, there is more money left in my budget. So, at the end of the quarter, I will get a 10% cut for being such a bustard. I'm real real happy about that.------------------ "All for one, and none for all" |

Glad to hear of your scores, Lotus. I usually do as well as you did when I haven't bowled in a while. And thanks. I came to realize recently that tip bowling just wasn't for me. Therefore, I adjusted the way I held my old 14-pound ball a bit, and wouldn't you know it, the hook was back and better than ever. And wouldn't you know it, I threw that 220 on the same lane where I threw a 232 many years ago. Strange, ain't it? [This message has been edited by Lord Destroyer (edited 09-20-2001).] |

LD...not strange. You get your favourite lanes (and your jinxed ones, also.) All depends on the alignment of the boards. They are all supposed to be the same but they aren't - a pro bowler once told me that. You have to adjust your line accordingly depending on which lane you are on. |

Very true, Lotus. I got a harsh lesson on varying lane conditions on the day after the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. On the first game, while using my dad's old bowling balls, I threw my first sub-100 game in many years. I switched over to my 14-pound ball and did better on the next two games. However, I usually left the 5-10 split when I hit the Brooklyn side on those other two games. BTW, what was the pro's name? Maybe I can recognize it, being the bowling nut that I am. November 8th - Gallagher at Florida Theatre. The show is at 8 PM. Flash photography is allowed, meaning I'll take pictures of the show, and probably post them on this board. He'll also be signing autographs before the show and some merchandise will be available for purchase (hats, T-shirts, videotapes).I got a ticket for that show somewhere last month and I'm going to be three rows away from the stage. I'd better get cracking on getting a sheet of plastic and a poncho or raincoat because Gallagher is really messy. He's best known for smashing stuff, especially watermelons, with a big mallet, which he calls Sledge-o-matic. Two weeks before the show, I'll be collecting predictions on how many things he'll smash. I'd love to post some things he said in the shows he has available on videotape (he hasn't gone to DVD, yet), if that's okay by you, Lotus. |

Quick note - grammar wasn't one of Gallagher's strong suits, so don't go grammar police on me, all right? Here goes... quote:
TOTALLY NEW (October, 1982)So the guy behind the counter says, "Have you heard about Preparation H?" No, he ain't heard! Where's his head been? Is that why he has hemorrhoids? STUCK IN THE SIXTIES (May, 1983) Hog futures, I heard that...hogs don't have no future! Bacon is not a career! THE MADDEST (October, 1983) I get so mad, people don't know how to turn left, they don't know three cars go through every time the light turns yellow. Three cars go through when the light goes yellow. Three cars go through! If you're the number one car and the light goes yellow, get out there! MELON CRAZY (May, 1984) You women just think you don't need us because you've been reading them books and watching them TV shows that tell you about "sperm banks". But I know that ain't never gonna work. I've seen a woman try to pick out a tomato! OVER YOUR HEAD (November, 1984) In the next five years, some countries will have nuclear bombs that do not have an air force! What, are they gonna send them by Federal Express? THE BOOKKEEPER (June, 1985) I've got to say it, even if it's somebody like Michael Jackson! I have to say something about a little dude who runs around the country wearing one glove, singing "Beat It". Get down! OVERBOARD (1987) We're aggressive in sports, let's get aggressive with our nuclear missiles. We have sissy damn names on them, "Peacekeeper"? Let's put something up there that will scare the Russians, something like "Oops", or something that reflects our attitude, something like "Pissed". Now that sounds good on the news, America deployed 10,000 pissed missiles today. WE NEED A HERO (1993) What am I, the only person in this world that can see? Companies think we're idiots, telling us soup is good food, soup isn't even food! Soup is what's left over in the dishwasher after a good meal. SMASHING CHEESEHEADS (1998) But I've got to blame even Mom because I know she reads these magazines. Let me show you this one here, Good Housekeeping. I read this magazine, yeah, it's got Reba on the front, like this bitch is gonna dust.
He has one other tape out, called Sledge-o-Matic Dot Com. It's a new release, made last year, and I haven't seen it yet. I'll try getting a copy when I go to the show. Otherwise, I'll just print out the order form from his website and order it through the mail. The reason why I asked first is it's your forum, Lotus (and Exile's as well), and I'd rather play it safe, okay? Countdown... 30 days, 20 hours, 53 minutes, 22 seconds. Another happy thought:Went bowling shortly after work today - I got 200, 169, and 165. I got one of my better lanes that time. It looks to me that lanes 21 - 24 at Plaza Lanes are those that work best with me. |

happy thought's eh?I don't have a girlfriend....I am however at Uni in my first year and therefore am enjoying all the delights of not having a girlfriend. Just call me Slutman. I am having a brilliant time, although my liver did walk out on me yesterday screaming something at me about me treating him like crap and never giving him any respect. It's fine though, I've replaced the tempremental git with a plastic garbage bag filled with sponge which I think does just as good a job. ....I always seem to turn up when Carwash has a new girlfriend, not that I'm stalking you or anything mate....but you will be MINE ------------------ My middle name could be danger......but it's john [This message has been edited by Ishtar (edited 10-13-2001).] |

If you mean drinking binges, Lotus, then I'm afraid not. In the States, you have to be 21 before you can legally drink, and LF isn't the type who would get fake ID just to get any alcoholic beverage. He just plays along when there's hypothetical drinking in this forum - when in Rome, do as the Romans do. |
