Today i have mostly been listening to "Amnesiac" by the mighty mighty Radiohead and i have to say it is truly a brilliant example of musical creativity. However, I do think it would have been better for Thom and the boys to have combined the best tracks from Kid A and Amnesiac to make one, absolutely superb, album. A "Kid Amnesiac" if you will.

i prefer the ramstein position myself.. i find the Sehnsucht manouver too hard to pull off and the ending results just arent worth the effort for either parties envolved |

All I have to say about Rammstein is: Translate their lyrics to english and what seemed like harsh German hate rhetoric turns into music almost as nonsensical as the Beatles early years stuff.I just got Amnesiac, and I have to agree with Tile_boy here. The later tracks are better, but that could be just because I believe lyrics need to be present to make a good song. Though, I don't understand why they didn't put Hunting Bears instead of Treefingers into Kid A, considering it was an instrumental song with a more "Radiohead" feel to it. But then, that's marketing. Not to say Radiohead are sellouts. I bought this cd for 5 dolla' less than Kid A, so I'm pleased. (oops, wrong song) [This message has been edited by Case B (edited 06-11-2001).] |

Sorry Case but i don't really agree with your comments on Ramstein, so what if they don't consistantly say fuck etc, there music is good, and there latest cd Mutter is awesome, and yes i understand their lyrics also. But so what, bands don't have to be badass all the time, do they?? [This message has been edited by Magpye (edited 06-11-2001).] |

I love the Beatles, actually. Have been a fan of them since early youth. I was just making an objective statement. I don't hate or particularly like Rammstein, I just thought it was kind of humorous that although the music has a serious, hardcore sound, the lyrics offset the whole mix a bit.[This message has been edited by Case B (edited 06-12-2001).] |

Pretty warm and humid here too. Steering wheel of my car burns when I drive. But its really pretty difficult to be dissapointed, upset, or depressed about damn near anything. Curse that sun, and everything it gives life to. Its no fun listening to all my music either, most of it is rainy day type shit. So now its KROQ again, which means Weezer's "Hash Pipe" about thirty times a day. |

So you prefer the later tracks, eh Case? I'm not with you on that one, i think they lose the flow a bit on the second half of the album. "Dollars and Cents " is awsome though.Speakin of Weezer, does anyone have "the green album"? |

Case B & Jogger...whether Rammstein sound fluffy like early Beatles or like bad Metallica...the thing is...the structure of the music. Obviously it has good structure, else they would not have so many fans.Cannot comment myself (don't know enough about it)...but if Mags loves their music...that's good enough for me! Diversity makes the world go round... [This message has been edited by Lotus666 (edited 06-12-2001).] |

Well then Britt I have too ask, does the green album compare to their brilliant debut? You've got them all? I heard "Pinkerton" was really bad.. Dark side of the moon is awsome, but the wall is the best concept album ever, with each song telling part of the story and relating and joining to the next in a way that just doesn't happen in dark side of the moon (except for the last two tracks maybe) or many other albums at all. |

Isn't Pinkerton the album with the song "The Good Life"? The acoustic version is so much better. Shaking booty makin' sweet love all of the night, I wanna go back to the good life... |

Yeah "wish you were here" is good, i think "Piper at the gates of dawn" is just acid induced crazyness. Apart from the song "Bike", which is just lyrical genius.I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house. I don't know why. I call him Gerald. He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.

My favorite is Wish You Were Here. Shine on you crazy diamond is just a great song. The Dark Side of the Moon though is really a great album and they made it before they sold out, so that's a bonus I guess. Wish You Were Here and The Wall are much more pop-py. |

I don't see how The wall is comercial, apart from of course "Another brick in the wall Part2". You ever heard "Animals"? |
Adams Monkey

I still haven't heard Animals , though I'm trying to get it somehow.Take for example Wish You Were Here the song. I like this song very much but it's truly commercial. The Wall's theme is like "rebelious" and I think they did it really well great lyrics and everything one of a kind album, but all the songs have the same chourds some even have a disco beat. They sold out the music for the theme. |

The Wall is about some guy goin mad and cutting himself off from the outside world, i think they do it ace, but each to their own etc, its what music is all about after all If i were you i'd try and listen to Animals before you buy. It is...abstract. |

Don't get me wrong I love "The Wall". It's just that all "The Wall"'s theme is what made it big, not the music. "The Dark Side of the Moon" is what made Pink Floyd brake through. |

I see what you're gettin at now. The Wall becomes almost a play, where as Dark side of the moon is based purely on the music.Of all the albums I've heard, D.S.O.T.M has the best opener and finisher on a record. It still sounds great. |
