I think today was possibly the worst day I've ever experienced. Today, Wednesday 24th October my religion class travelled up to Colraine (near the top of Ireland ie 2hr train journey from me) to attend a philosophy conference in the university.
To get there on time for the conference we left the town I live in on the 7:20am train. We were to be there for 7am just in case which meant I had to get up at 6am. Yes, that's right.
I actually managed this and got my mother up too, making her drive me to the train station where I got on and everything was fine.
We attended the first section of the conference which was on 'applying morals to philosophy - suicide'. It was the most boring talk I've ever heard and the man had a dull monotonous voice that in a room of about 200boys and girls, was not exactly welcomed. After an hour of that we got a break.
The next talk was about 'the existence of God' and it was slightly more interesting and then after lunch there was a talk on 'criticisms in philosophy'.
The day ended at about 2:20pm.
Our train was due then to leave the Colraine train station at 3:10 to take us to Belfast, where we would catch the train at 3:15 back home.
Didn't quite work like that.
The train didn't come to Colraine and when we looked around we realised that our teacher and half our group had gotten on a bus to take them to Colraine city centre train station. Our religion teacher had not noticed that 17 of his students were missing and had piled the rest on a bus, which by accident was going somewhere other than Colraine.
We got on the right bus to Colraine and asked the train inspector what we should do. He said seeing as our teacher had our group ticket we could get on the train but it wouldn't leave until he and the rest of the group arrived there. So the train waited for us and finally our teacher got there and we all got on the train safely.
About fifteen minutes into the journey we break down. Our bus from Belfast left while we were stranded somewhere in the arsehole of nowhere.
To amuse ourselves during the wait we wrote a note to the man who was going around with a trolly of snacks saying something along the lines of 'hey sexy, just wanted to say that if youre up for a good time call natasha at 0771....' and dropped it onto his trolly as he passed. This man was not attractive but hey it was funny.
After about 20minutes, at 10 to 6pm they attached a thing to the front of our train which dragged us to Belfast just in time for the 6pm train home.
On the train we got a phone call guess who from - The trolly dolly man! He must be so desperate because he called and sent a text message to the girl's phone even though she hung up on him. Scary stalker trolly dolly on the loose.
We got home at 7:10pm this evening, not having eaten since about 3:00pm that afternoon.
My religion teacher is in so much trouble tomorrow.
