It struck me that we may be able to get two threads to run simultaneously in this forum. Wouldn't that be an original idea?

So has anyone been to see any good films lately or rented any good ones?

I went to see Proof of Life, possibly the slowest film I've ever actually seen. Slow beginning, slow middle, slightly faster end but not fast or good enough to make the film overall recommendable.
The only reason I would recommend this film is if I were incredably shallow and were to say that it is only good for superficial reasons, starring Russel Crowe and Meg Ryan.

This film is pitiful. If you must see it, rent it, watch it alone and never admit you did so.

I just rented a documentary called "American Movie". It's about a pathetic 30-year old who lives with his parents who is trying to make a movie. Very funny, and very genuine. I liked it a lot. See it!

I saw an indie film called Memento, very good film, hell it was great. Its about a guy who has a problem making new memories past the murder of his wife, and its about him tracking down her killer.

Yes it sounds all weird and all but a damn fine film.

I also saw Blow which was very cool, and another indie comedy called Super Troopers. Now Super Troopers was fucking hilarious, its about a bunch of I think Maryland state troopers who have a bit too much time on their hands to fuck with motorists and such.

actually i saw like ten movies last week, but i wont mention them all. well maybe

Saw two good ones this weekend.

"Ilsa: She-Wolf Of The S.S." - Exploitation at it's finest (or worst). Torture, boobs, mutilation and gratuitous sex and violence. Plus, it was secretly filmed on the set of 'Hogan's Heroes'.

"A Good Baby" - Just a nice simple film. Disappointed it didn't follow through with some of the "big picture" stuff it hinted at. I liked it.

Don't rent 'Bacon Head'. With the exception of the "Gerbil Absobancy Test", it really sucked.

That reminds me...I have to spend some money on the three "Ilsa" discs put out by Anchor Bay...need to get into the gore genre again!
