Hey well since nobody else has done it please let me be the first to congratulate FatJohnny on his marriage. I'm assuming that it all went on as planned since I haven't seen his ass around here in a while. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Fat. Cheers! and give us some details ASAP! |

Is it really wise to refer to FJ's wife as "Ms. Fat?" But I digess, I wanna know details of the non-sexual kind. |

Ah, Mexico: you can drink the water, but you can't eat the ice, date the women, date the men, attack Mexico City, throw coins at the poor via wrist launcher... |

Well, I have returned. I want to say, that I could not have asked for a better 10 days. While there were some problems - the guy who was going to perform the ceremony (a good friend of mine from high school) couldn't make it out of San Francisco, and members of my family from New York couldn't make it due to a bomb threat on the ferry, up there - considering that week previous, it was all minor and understandable stuff. Anyways, a judge filled in, many people did make it, and my bride looked beautiful. We both said "I do" and that was that. The reception was a lot of fun. It pays to have friends who are good drinkers. Keeps things lively. The Monday after, we took off for Mexico. For those who haven't flown since the 11th, airport security is very tight. We both felt very safe flying, even though it added a lot of extra travel time. Grand total travel time: 12 and a half hours. All worth it. Playa del Carmen, Mexico, might be the most beautiful place ever. Lush, green and the ocean was gorgeous. The resort we stayed at was a piece of work. There was a manufactured jungle to walk through on your way to various parts of the resort. Complete with wildlife. Monkey's, peacocks, lizards, large hamster looking things, and Nona's (Mrs. Fat) favorite, turtles. (Tortugas!) The package was all inclusive so drinks were free (boo-ya!), which came in handy after we got severely burnt on the first day. There was plenty to do, non beach-wise. We had a fantastic time. Didn't want to leave. We stocked up cheezy souveeniers, and cheap duty-free booze and smokes ($12.50 for a mammoth bottle of Kaluha? Hell yeah.), and headed home. It was an amazing time. Thanks to all of you for your well-wishes. And now, back to the grind.

Actually, we were pretty cool first time we met. After 30 seconds or so of talking we settled down. The whole day was absolutely weird though. No date set as yet, but it's almost certainly going to happen before the end of the year. ------------------ "Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!" |

Erm, complicated story. We met on a teletext letters page. The editor put us in touch. It wasn't a sad dating page or anything. We started emailing. Fell in love. Met a few months later. Engaged. That's the edited version! ------------------ "Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!" |

I don't believe in internet love. I don't think you can get to know someone to the full extent over the internet, there's always something missing. I dunno, maybe it's just me. Congrats anyway Newman. |

I agree, but we got on even better when we got together. We see each other every fortnight. We've been together for nearly 18 months now. So all the internet problems have been overcome, really. Thanks for the wishes! ------------------ "Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!" |

Newman, good luck to you, but I just made a note in my WWYK diary next to your name in little writing that said '50/50 - romantic/freakish loser? investigate'Manic, you just broke my heart. Back to crushes on celebrities for me. |

Just do what I did. About 1000 variations on the "Roses are red" one. They get so bored looking at it over and over, that they don't even notice if you start being mean at towards the end. |
