I find it slightly more exciting than regular football, but after five minutes I go off to do something important.

Anybody care?

I usually watch if I get a chance, but that's not often.

You know what XFL stands for? 10 fans left.

I don't like football. But if I'm watching tv and come across the xfl I may pause and emit a brief chuckle. for obvious reasons I think.

I like what they're doing with camera angles, and while the caliber of player may not be as high as the NFL, there playing harder. It just seems more real for some reason. I hope it doesn't go under.

To answer the original question...

NO

Then again, I don't watch regular football either...so perhaps my vote doesn't count.

Actually, I figured out what is rubbing me the wrong way about the XFL: they're trying too hard.

Don't get me wrong, I like that the players are kicking their ass to win, but the announcers are just pushing the point too hard, to the extent that they're trying to boost their own egos and agendas. Whenever Jesse Ventura is annoucing, he's making comments are being 'EXTREME!' and 'BADASS!' and such. Thanks, asshole, just because some assholes in some frigid state voted you in doesn't mean you're the God Almighty of Extreme and Other Annoying Overblown Catch Phrases. And listening to Vince McMahon breaking his WWF character (aka acting like the fine announcer he always was) is just surreal. Where the hell does this man's line of reality/fantasy begin and end? It's like listening to a spastic bipolar schizo.

But this, despite the above paragraph, is a minor bitch. If the XFL furthered itself from the soap opera dramatics and over the top antics (the XFL is supposed to real, apparently), it would do a lot better. Face it, beyond the EXTREME shit and the half-naked ex-stripper cheerleaders, is quite a few good ideas at work.

Nick, one point of contention: Vince McMahon was never a quality announcer.

I'll compromise and just say for the WWF, McMahon was better than that guy who does it now strictly because the guy who does it now doesn't look like he's talking.

It's surreal. Check it out next time you watch him...he opens his mouth, a voice comes out, but it's not that fat guy in the hat!!

*shudder*

Good ol' J.R.? I can forgive him. Bells Palsey has been rough to the guy. If you want to see/hear him in top form try and find some old N.W.A. (National Wrestling Alliance - no, not the rap group) tapes.

Hey, I had that once... makes half your face paralyzed. You end up looking like Quasimodo...or Thom Yorke.

I was teased by giggling girls incessantly during my sophomore year in high school.

Then I took Prednizone (steroids! and yet, I'm still scrawny...). Huge dose of it. After the Palsey came the pimples. Only natural.

Now I'm normal though. Sort of.

Oh, and yeah - I'm back. Yippee.

Spring Break kicked a considerable amount of ass for me. I got so drunk I lost control of certain bodily functions. And ended up getting a nice gash in my kneecap from a kicked-up bottle that broke into shards upon contact.

Being drunk is fun! Yippee! (for those "slower minds," note the sarcasm here.)

Its just waking up and realizing the extent of the damage that sucks.

Nope, somewhere around the campus of USF.

Because even Jesuit college kids like to party.
