I know I am courting disaster and Shagadelic is hiring a contract killer as I speak, but someone has to say it,I am sooooooo over Austin Powers! I went to a sixties party on Saturday night and there were wall to wall Austins and Felicities etc. The only thing stopping a massacre was that the friendly Hendrix look alike shared his green herbal medication with me and calmed me down. No lambasting here. I've always had a bit of hatred for random sixties crap. Austin Powers has never done anything for me.All I have to say is that there is a fine line between knowing your roots, and necrophilia.  |

I liked the movies, I liked the gags, but I never could hear the 'Yeah baby' stuff and actually feel the need to laugh. He's just a fella saying some cliche phrases in an English accent.Movies good, Austin Powers good, cliche hyped Austin Powers-isms pain in the arse. |

Hey wadda ya know; I'm not a lone voice.However, there is one use for an Austin Powers costume at a party....It allows the socially inept, with no conversational skills, whatsoever, to talk to girls. All they have to say is "yeah baby" or "nice pants, do you think I can get into them?" and girls think that they're in character instead of just being the mega Dickheads that they are. |

I loved the Austin Powers films...still do. The characters make me laugh, Mike Meyers makes me laugh...what's not to like?Enjoy the 60's-70's revivals while you can guys...you all know the 80's are next! |
